This one-day immersive course is a deep dive into the ancient art of making fire from scratch using nothing but natural materials. During the WildFire Course, you’ll gain hands-on experience and the essential bushcraft tuition needed to confidently create fire in the wild – no lighters, no matches, no shortcuts.
We focus on one of the most time-tested and empowering fire-starting methods: the Bow Drill Technique. Though widely taught, this course goes far beyond using pre-made kits. Instead, you’ll journey through the full process – from identifying and harvesting materials in the wild, to carving your own kit, and ultimately bringing flame to life with your own hands.
This isn’t just a demonstration – it’s a full-on nomadic day in the forest. Set across a 1000-acre wild landscape, we move through different micro-environments, gathering the knowledge, tools and natural materials needed to make fire. You’ll carry your gear in a small rucksack, and leave the comforts of a fixed basecamp behind as we step into the wild as true fire pilgrims.
While many courses stop at technique, this day is designed to give you the ability to problem-solve independently. You’ll leave with a deep understanding of the conditions, materials, and mindset required to make fire confidently – even when the elements are against you.
Expect to be challenged, supported, and ultimately empowered as you reconnect with this fundamental human skill.
Join us and rediscover fire – not just as a survival tool, but as a connection to the land, to tradition, and to yourself.
